On March 1, 2005, ALIANT Bank acquired Southern Capital Resources to replace their current mortgage division.  ALIANT Bank, based in Alex City, has a strong banking presence in Alex City, Birmingham, and Montgomery, and recognized an opportunity to expand their mortgage reach through the acquisition of Southern Capital Resources. Southern Capital has been one of the leading mortgage providers in central Alabama for many years, and in becoming a division of ALIANT Bank, is now positioned to obtain an even larger mortgage market share through construction financing, new permanent mortgage products, and even more aggressive mortgage rates.
